2020 Feminists in Residence

Project For Empty Space is excited to announce our 2020/21 Feminists in Residence (FIR) Jillian M Rock, Mimi Bai, Sarah K. Khan, Spandita Malik, and Priscilla Dobler Dzul.  

From September to January, the selected artists will develop work at Project for Empty Space that speaks to the incubator’s mission; addressing issues of female safety, gender roles, ownership, and agency. This year we have expanded the program to artists that work in art and tech. This expansion is made possible through a collaboration with The Honk Tweet, and supported by a generous grant from Newark Arts. The Feminist in Residence program will culminate in a group exhibition, accompanied by public programs and happenings in 2021.
