DAWN -- NOUN -- the first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise
DAWN -- VERB -- become evident to the mind; to be perceived or understood.

To See/Ver an ongoing performance emphasizing labor through the repeated act of sewing, stitching of garments in the early morning. Labor as an act of love. The sewing of memories. Sewing is an act of healing, mending, and construction. The sound emitting from the sewing machine breaks the silence and alongside the gradual shift of light invites passersby for a moment of reflection and pause.

The performance takes place at the street level window every Friday at dawn where I will be sewing scraps of men's dress shirts. The dress shirts are donated by individuals from the community, friends, and family members. It is a form of meditative healing of stories, memories, and histories.
